Agartala, 22nd February 2025 :   Local residents of Bhairabpara under the East Panchayat in Churaibari have accused ruling party leaders of betraying their trust after winning the election.

According to the locals, promises were made to resolve the area’s road and water issues within three months of election victory. However, no action has been taken, leading to growing frustration among the community.

This afternoon, residents expressed their anger by staging a road blockade. Both men and women participated in the protest, disrupting vehicular movement and leading to heated arguments between drivers and the general public.

Residents alleged that after securing votes, the leaders have neglected their responsibilities and their commitment to the people.

Upon receiving news of the protest, panchayat officials arrived at the scene. The panchayat Pradhan informed the residents about the water management plans, which led to the protesters withdrawing the blockade.
