PM Modi congratulates new Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker

Date:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday congratulated the new Austrian Chancellor, Christian Stocker, and said he looks forward to working with him to take the bilateral partnership to unprecedented heights.

In a post on X, the PM said:

“Warmly congratulate H.E. Christian Stocker on being sworn in as the Federal Chancellor of Austria.

“The India-Austria Enhanced Partnership is poised to make steady progress in the years to come.

“I look forward to working with you to take our mutually beneficial cooperation to unprecedented heights.”

Christian Stocker was sworn in as Austria’s new chancellor on Monday, heading a three-party coalition government formed five months after last year’s election.

Stocker’s centre-right People’s Party (ÖVP), the centre-left Social Democrats (SPÖ) and the liberal Neos clinched a deal last week after their first attempt to form a coalition failed in January.
