Agartala, 13th March 2025: A serious accident took place today in the Dauchhara area under the Kalyanpur police station when a sand-laden vehicle lost control and plunged into a roadside ditch leaving four people injured including the driver.
Eyewitnesses reported that high-speed sand-laden vehicles frequently use this road, contributing to the risk of accidents. The driver of the vehicle named Kuton Das and registration number is TR01Z1838, explained that he lost control while attempting to pass an auto. He further mentioned being pressured to drive fast due to a strict time limit for sand transportation.
The injured individuals were identified as Badal Giri (24), Bishal Debbarma (22), Jaharlal Debbarma (24) and the driver Kuton Das (33). Local residents promptly rescued the injured and rushed them to Kalyanpur Hospital for treatment.Upon receiving information about the incident, the fire brigade arrived at the scene to carry out rescue operations. Later, officers from the Kalyanpur police station also reached the site and began their investigation into the circumstances of the accident.Meanwhile, local residents have urged the police to take stricter measures to control the speed of sand-laden vehicles in the area, aiming to prevent similar accidents in the future.
