Death of Mulayam leaves void in national politics : Nitish

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday condoled the death of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav and described the unfortunate incident as great loss of socialist movement in the country.

Kumar in his message, recalled the great contribution of Yadav in socialist movement besides Uttar Pradesh and national politics.

Yadav was greatest socialist leader in the country of contemporary phase, he added.

” Mulayam was founder of Samajwadi Party and had been Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh on three occasions while he also served as Defence Minister”, Chief Minister said adding that Mulayam was a man of very humble nature.

Mulayam had rendered valuable service to the nation during his long political career, he noted.

Kumar said that Mulayam was born in an ordinary farmer family and had been affectionate to all sections of the society including poor and deprived. Death of Mulayam was a personal loss to him,

he remarked.

The chief minister prayed to God to give strength to bereaved family members to bear the tragedy.

As it is, veteran socialist leader Mulayam Singh Yadav breathed his last in Medanta hospital in Delhi after prolonged illness. A number of leaders including RJD chief Lalu Prasad, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Prasad Yadav and Bihar BJP president Sanjay Jaiswal condoled the death of veteran leader.
