PM directs to ensure strict action in Varanasi gang rape case

 Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep concern over the recent gang-rape incident involving a 19-year-old girl and took a strong stance on the matter during his Varanasi visit on Friday.

Upon arriving at Varanasi Airport, the PM immediately sought a detailed briefing from the Police Commissioner, Divisional Commissioner, and District Magistrate.

He directed the officials to identify all those involved in the heinous crime and ensure the strictest possible action against them. He also emphasised the need for robust and effective measures to prevent such incidents in the future.

The case involves the alleged gang rape of a 19-year-old woman, with FIRs filed against 12 named and 11 unidentified individuals. So far, nine accused have been arrested, while the search for the remaining suspects continues.
