Agartala, 16th April 2025: A spell of afternoon showers on Wednesday brought welcome relief to Tripura after days of intense heat, with temperatures hovering around 35 degrees Celsius in recent days.
The rain, which lashed several parts of the state, arrived as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert for the next three days, warning of continued unstable weather.
The Meteorological Centre in Agartala said the rainfall is likely to bring down the maximum temperature by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius over the next two to three days. However, no significant change is expected thereafter.The IMD has forecast light to moderate rain, thundershowers, and thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40–50 kmph. The alert applies to North Tripura, Unokoti, Dhalai, Khowai, West Tripura, and other parts of the state.
