Agartala Nov 03: As a part of the Anti-Narcotics drive going on in the state, Tripura police is keeping a strict check over drug peddling.In yet another such incident police of west Agartala Police Station detained a person along with huge amount of drugs.
According to the details, on the basis of secret information, police of West Agartala Police station raided the house of one Shankar Sarkar at Bamun Para in Lankamura area on late Wednesday night,Police recovered yaba tablets and brown sugar from the scooty of the house owner.Talking about the raid, Sadar Sub-divisional Police Officer Ajay Kumar Das said, “The market value of recovered drugs is about Rs 1 lakh”.
Police have detained Shankar Sarkar along with the scooty and drugs and he was produced before the Court on Thursday seeking police remand for five days.The Police officer added, Shankar will be thoroughly interrogated to find out the details of the drug trafficking chain and others associated with the business.
