Illegal liquor seized at Sekerkote: Bajrang Dal alerts police

Agartala, 6th May 2025:  A sensation took place in the Sekerkote New Market area early this morning when Bajrang Dal members intercepted an auto-rickshaw suspected of smuggling country liquor. The driver and another individual reportedly fled the scene leaving the vehicle behind, which was later handed over to the Amtali police. 

According to sources, Bajrang Dal’s West District coordinator Kaushik Pal and Viswa Hindu Parishad’s Dukli branch secretary Prasenjit Sutradhar were in the area to establish a new distribution center when they noticed the suspicious vehicle. Upon approaching, two individuals abandoned the auto-rickshaw and escaped. 

The Bajrang Dal members promptly reported the incident to the Amtali police station, leading officers to the scene. Authorities have since registered a case and taken possession of the vehicle for further investigation. 

Local residents have expressed concerns over recurring instances of illicit liquor smuggling in the area. Police officials assured that appropriate action will be taken as the investigation progresses.
