Agartala, 10th May 2025:  Residents of NC Nagar Gram Panchayat under Sonamura Sub-Division, Boxanagar Block are facing severe hardships due to an acute drinking water crisis. Despite the installation of house-to-house water supply systems under the Har Ghar Jal project, many households remain without access to clean water.

The irregular supply from mini-deep wells has further exacerbated the situation, with villagers reporting that the water is often unpurified and unfit for consumption. Additionally, the presence of iron in the available water has rendered it unsuitable for daily use, leaving many struggling to meet their basic needs.

Despite repeated appeals to the Panchayat Pradhan and the local MLA, the issue remains unresolved, fueling frustration among the affected residents. The villagers of NC Nagar, located near the barbed-wire border, are now urging the concerned authorities to take immediate action to address the crisis and ensure a stable and safe water supply.
