Agartala, 14th May 2025:  Five passengers sustained injuries in a collision involving three vehicles on the Agartala National Highway in Bhuiyarmatha, Bishalgarh. The injured were promptly transported to Tripura Medical College and Dr. BR Ambedkar Teaching Hospital at Hapania for medical treatment.

Eyewitness reported that the accident took place due to a high-speed maneuver involving a battery-powered passenger auto-rickshaw, a Bolero pickup and an Indica CS. The impact left the passengers trapped inside the vehicles, prompting locals to rush to the scene and initiate rescue operations. The Bishalgarh Fire Department was alerted and assisted in transporting the injured to the hospital.

The Bishalgarh police arrived at the location shortly after the incident. The collision caused temporary disruption on the Agartala-Udaipur highway, but local residents quickly worked to clear the route, restoring normal traffic flow.

Preliminary details indicate that five passengers were traveling from Udaipur to Agartala in the battery-powered auto-rickshaw bearing registration number TR0KD-2139. A freight Bolero bearing registration number TR01K-1940, attempting to overtake an Indica CS bearing registration number TR01AL-0727 from the opposite direction at high speed, triggered the crash. Light rainfall contributed to road slickness, causing the auto to lose control and strike the rear of the Bolero. The Indica CS then collided with the Bolero’s rear, further intensifying the accident.
