Agartala, 19th May 2025: Four individuals including a three-year-old child sustained serious injuries in a road accident at Rouya Bazar on Chamtila-Jalabasa Road under Panisagar Police Station yesterday.
Reportedly, a tripper vehicle bearing registration number TR02J-1939 transporting stones to Jalabasa collided with an autorickshaw bearing registration number TR05ER-3651 coming from the opposite direction at high speed, resulting in the accident. The autorickshaw driver and three passengers were injured in the impact.
Upon receiving information from local traders and passersby, personnel from the Panisagar Fire Department promptly arrived at the scene and rescued the victims. They were initially taken to the Panisagar Sub-Divisional Hospital for primary treatment. Subsequently, the attending doctors referred them to Dharmanagar District Hospital for advanced medical care.
The injured individuals have been identified as autorickshaw driver Naroom Nama and passengers Ramendra Nama, Bina Nama and a three-year-old child Rupam Nama, all residents of North Hurua under Dharmanagar Police Station. Sources indicate that the accident took place while they were returning home from a relative’s residence in Jalabasa.
Following the incident, officers from Panisagar Police Station reached the spot and seized both the autorickshaw and the tripper vehicle for investigation. A case related to the accident has been registered, and authorities are working to determine its precise cause.
