Agartala, 19th May 2025:  For the first time since India’s independence, road construction has commenced in Ward 3 of Algapur Gram Panchayat under Dharmanagar assembly constituenct. The long-awaited project was inaugurated on May 19, coinciding with ‘Bangla Bhasha Saheed Diwas’ by Dharmanagar MLA and Assembly Speaker Biswa Bandhu Sen.

Residents had endured decades without paved roads, even under previous governments. The project, initiated by the Gram Panchayat, aims to improve infrastructure across the region.

Sen criticized past administrations for neglecting essential development, stating that the BJP government, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, is making rapid progress. He highlighted the ongoing construction of 80–90 roads and 70–75 drainage systems across Dharmanagar, benefiting six village councils and 25 wards.

“The development that CPIM failed to achieve in 25 years, BJP has accomplished in just a few,” Sen asserted.
