Agartala, 26th May 2025:  Chaos took place at Agartala Chandrapur ISBT today after all passenger bus services were abruptly suspended in protest against an alleged assault on a bus driver at Tuisindrai Bazar.

Sources informed that a violent altercation broke out between two drivers yesterday over the issue of passenger transport. One of the drivers was reportedly beaten severely, triggering widespread outrage among fellow bus operators. In response, the drivers collectively staged a protest by ceasing all passenger transport operations from the ISBT hub.

“There is no end to our suffering. Small vehicles like e-rickshaws and autos are taking away our passengers, and we are being attacked without reason. One of our drivers was brutally assaulted yesterday – we cannot stay silent anymore,” said a protesting bus driver.

With bus services paralyzed, hundreds of commuters were left stranded, struggling to find alternate modes of transport. Long queues and visible frustration painted a picture of distress, as the sudden disruption added to the chaos.

Local authorities are yet to respond officially to the incident, but tension remains high at the ISBT premises. Drivers have demanded strict action and proper regulation of passenger transport in the area to avoid further escalation.
