TFTI inauguration on November 28 next; ICA minister visits Nazrul Kalakshetra & reviews works

Agartala, November 22, 2022: Tripura Film and Television Institute (TFTI) will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister Prof Dr Manik Saha on November 28 next at the premises of Nazrul Kalakshetra here.

In connection to this, ICA minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Tuesday visited Nazrul Kalakshetra here and reviewed the works of the upcoming institute with the authorities.

While speaking to reporters here, Chowdhury said that after much waiting, the first film institute is going to be inaugurated in the state of Tripura. The film institute will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister on November 28 next.

He said that it was possible to build this institute after overcoming many complications. The minister invited those who are willing to study film. He also said that classes will start in this film institute from November 28 onwards. The admission process for this is going on and already three courses will be started. These include news reading, anchoring and acting. The courses will be of three to four weeks duration. Then the government will think about the diploma degree course, he said.

He also informed that materials with latest technology have been purchased for this institute. Satyajit Roy Film Institute faculty will come and conduct the class. He said that various materials are still to be purchased for this. By capitalizing this institute, the talented children of the state will get great opportunities.

Chowdhury expressed the opinion that the youth will find employment direction from the film institute. The Minister was accompanied by the officials of the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs.
