Agartala, 1st June 2025:  Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Sunday visited several flood-affected areas in Agartala to review the ongoing relief and rehabilitation operations. He assured the public that the state government is fully prepared to manage the situation, with all necessary personnel and resources deployed on the ground.

Dr. Saha toured flood-hit localities including Chandrapur, Pratapgarh, and Baradowali—situated along the banks of the Howrah River in Agartala. He also inspected seven relief camps and interacted with displaced residents to assess their needs and the adequacy of arrangements made for them.

“In the past two days, heavy rainfall has caused extensive damage not just in Tripura but also in Assam. However, the water level in Agartala is now receding, which indicates that our drainage system is functioning effectively,” the Chief Minister stated. He said 24 relief camps have been set up in the affected areas, stocked with sufficient food and medical supplies. “Medical teams are stationed at the camps, and sanitation is being strictly maintained. Personnel from NDRF, SDRF, Apada Mitra, Tripura Police, and local volunteers are working around the clock to ensure public safety,” Dr. Saha added.

The Chief Minister emphasized that all departments, including the Agartala Municipal Corporation, are working in close coordination. Water pumps have been deployed across the city to clear water-logged zones, and public announcements are advising people in vulnerable areas to move to safer locations.Dr. Saha was accompanied by Agartala Mayor Dipak Majumder, MP Rajib Bhattacharya, Revenue Secretary Brijesh Pandey, and West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar during the visit.
