MP CM takes swipe at Rahul Gandhi for not removing shoes while paying floral tribute to Indira Gandhi

Date:

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Tuesday took a swipe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for not removing his shoes while paying tribute at a statue of late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in Bhopal.

“I have been informed that the Leader of Opposition in the state has visited. It’s good that he came, as everyone has the right to visit in a democracy. However, when he paid tribute to his grandmother, he didn’t remove his shoes. This doesn’t seem appropriate and goes against our culture. He should be mindful of such things,” Yadav said.

Rahul Gandhi had paid tribute to Indira Gandhi at the state Congress office in Bhopal, but didn’t remove his shoes, while MP Congress President Jitu Patwari, who was standing next to him, did remove his shoes before offering flowers. Videos of the incident have gone viral on social media.

Yadav also said that while all parties have the right to function in a democracy, the BJP has won the hearts of people with its culture and work. He added that the party has been making progress and will continue to do so, and that no other party will be able to make a mark in the state.
