Agartala, 5th June 2025 :  Former Tripura Chief Minister and Lok Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb launched a sharp attack on the Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Thursday, accusing it of acting as “brokers for China” despite having no relevance in that country.

Addressing a gathering organized by the Tripura Irregular DWS Pump Operators Association at Agartala Town Hall, Deb remarked, “Sitting in India, the communists are brokering for China. But they can’t even buy an inch of land there. The Chinese Prime Minister would sweep them away with a broom.”  Deb went on to criticize the CPM’s ideological stance, calling it hypocritical.

“They claim to represent the poor but end up collecting donations from them without bringing any real change to their lives. Even during the recent floods, not a single communist leader came forward to help the affected families,” he alleged.

He also took aim at the Left’s long tenure in Tripura, accusing the party of obstructing central welfare schemes and misleading the public for decades.“They never wanted people to benefit from government initiatives and were constantly spreading misinformation,” Deb said.

Highlighting the issues faced by irregular pump operators, Deb said only Prime Minister Narendra Modi could address their long-standing demands. He accused the Left of prioritizing union politics over the needs of the people.“For them, the state means nothing. Their focus is only on preserving ideological dominance and maintaining control over unions,” he added.
