Eight, including Chairman of a militant organization nabbed in Manipur

 Eight militants, including the Chairman of a militant organization, were nabbed in different operations by Police and security personnel during the last 24 hours.

Manipur Police said on Friday that three cadres of UPPK (United People’s Party of Kangleipak), including the Chairman of the outfit, were nabbed at Ghari Makha Leikai area under Lamphel-PS, Imphal West District. The Chairman was identified as Konthoujam Homeshwor. Two 45 mm Pistol , one M-20 Pistol, Gun Licences were recovered.

Security forces arrested a militant from the Ngangkhalawai and Thamnapokpi area along NH-2 under Moirang-PS, Bishnupur District. Manipur Police also arrested a militant from Wangoo Ahallup Mayai Leikai area under Kumbi-PS, Bishnupur District.

Security forces in another operation arrested three militants from Taothong Khunou near Khudeiban Lampak under Lamsang-PS, Imphal West District.

In an operation at Keipha road and Thamnapokpi area under Moirang-PS, Bishnupur District, a combined team recovered one each of SLR, Sten Machine Gun, Hand Grenade, two 12 Bore Pistols, detonator, IED, and large numbers of ammunition.
