Sacked 10,323 teachers’ group holds road blockade, seeks govt’s attention

Agartala, December 01, 2022: Passing off 43 days of indefinite hunger strike by a group of retrenched 10,323 teachers, a road blockade has been staged from Orient Chowmuhani to Rabindra Satabarshi Bhavan urging the government of giving assurance of jobs.

Speaking to media personnel here, one of the terminated teachers said “We have organized a road blockade after passing off of indefinite hunger strike for 43 days. But still, the government has no positive outlook for us. The Education department is reluctant to initiate any step in favour of us till date.”

“The Education department has terminated all the 10,323 teachers unlawfully. We are being deprived of getting salaries for 33 months. We are seeking government’s attention, request the administrative officials to come here and assure us that positive initiative to be taken”, he added.
