Sushanta Reviews Key Infrastructure Projects to Boost Connectivity

Agartala, 20th June 2025: Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Friday chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the progress of several ongoing transport infrastructure projects across the state.

Addressing senior officials from the Transport Department, PWD, Rural Development Department, CPWD, and various construction agencies, the Minister stressed the importance of timely execution of projects sanctioned under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment Scheme 2024–25.

“The state government is committed to transforming Tripura’s transport sector through strategic development initiatives. Construction of motor stands and transport-related infrastructure is progressing at key locations such as Melaghar, Jirania, Shantirbazar, Julaibari, and Manughat,” he said.

He also highlighted the advancement of major infrastructure projects, including the Rajarbagh Bus Port, Sabroom Interstate Bus Terminus, the new Transport Commissionerate office in Agartala, and District Transport Offices in Kailashahar, Bishramganj, Teliamura, and Shantirbazar.

Minister Chowdhury directed all departments and agencies to accelerate project implementation and ensure timely submission of Utilization Certificates.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to enhancing public transport facilities, he underscored the importance of transparency and accountability in executing these projects for the benefit of the people of Tripura.
