Agartala Dec 08: Chief minister Dr Manik Saha on Thursday displayed an appreciable human face in a minor incident that took place in Bisramganj this morning.According to the details, at around 11.00 am on Thursday morning, the chief minister’s convoy was heading at speed towards South Tripura in connection with party program.
An old tribal lady standing by the side of the road could not bear the gusty wind and speeding convoy of Tripura chief minister nearing Bishramganj and fell by the wayside without sustaining any major injury.The chief minister immediately asked the driver to stop the car and himself got down.
He personally carried the old woman into his vehicle and hurried her to nearby Bisramganj hospital, placed her in a stretcher and checked the pulse while the doctor on-duty arrived.The chief minister himself made sure until he was assured that the old lady namely Vishwa Lakshmi Debbarma around 70 years of age did not sustain and major injuries but some scratches on the hand.The down-to-earth nature of the chief minister who did not care about urgent party schedule has gone viral over the social media platforms.A major section of intellectuals of the society blessed the chief minister for his magnanimity.
