Agartala, 26th June 2025:   The Dharmanagar District Congress staged a protest demanding the arrest of alleged BJP-linked miscreants involved in the attack on the official residence of MLA Sudip Roy Barman. The demonstration culminated in a march through the town’s main roads, expressing outrage over the incident and the state government’s failure to curb violence.

During a gathering of tribals, OBCs, Scheduled Castes, and Scheduled Tribes at Ambassa, Congress leaders accused the BJP of repeated neglect and humiliation of tribal communities, citing a recent incident in Madhya Pradesh involving a BJP leader. Digvijay Chakraborty of the District Congress criticized the Modi-led central government, calling the Prime Minister “a failure” and alleging continued marginalization of disadvantaged communities.

Protesters further alleged that the Tripura Chief Minister and Home Minister have failed to maintain law and order and are complicit in rising political violence. They demanded Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha’s immediate resignation, warning of a statewide agitation under the National Congress banner if their demands remain unmet.
