Agartala, 26th June 2025: NB Institute for Rural Technology (NBIRT) in collaboration with Geetanjali Solar Enterprise Pvt. Ltd. of Kolkata organized a workshop on Solar Hybrid Cold Storage and Solar Hybrid Dryer on June 24 last at Arkaneer, Sekerkote, West Tripura. The said workshop was successfully organized with the support of Seed Division, Sunil program, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India with an aim to foster awareness among the local farmers, Entrepreneurs and SHG members, who are involved in spices and dry food business. Scientist Dr. S.P. Gon Choudhury, Hony. President, NBIRT, Er. Anupam Baral, Managing Director, Geetanjali Solar Enterprise Pvt. Ltd. of Kolkata, Dr. Richik Ghosh Thakur, PI & Er. Kapil Baran Bhowmik, Co-PI of SUNIL project attended the said workshop as Speakers.
Total 44 numbers of farmers and SHG members attended the workshop and expressed their pleasure and happiness to be a part of the awareness program. Anup Dey, Project Officer, NBIRT said that this is the first time; this type of workshop has been organized by this Institute. Such type of workshop on Solar operated innovative gadgets i.e. Solar Hybrid Cold Storage & Solar Hybrid Dryer will be organized in other districts of the state in future under SUNIL project for awareness purpose. The whole workshop was coordinated by the entire team of NBIRT.
