Agartala, 1st July 2025: In a bid to accelerate rural entrepreneurship across Tripura, the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), Guwahati, and the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under the Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Program (SVEP). The agreement was formalized at the TRLM office in Agartala last Friday.
The MoU was signed between TRLM Chief Executive Officer Ajit Sukla Das, IAS, and Dr. Santanu Mohan Deka, Associate Faculty Member of IIE, marking the launch of a collaborative framework aimed at nurturing micro-enterprises in rural regions.
As part of the agreement, the IIE will extend technical and strategic support in multiple domains — notably in the preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), capacity-building of Community Resource Persons for Enterprise Promotion (CRP-EPs), and on-ground implementation of enterprise development models.
Officials from both institutions underscored that the partnership is designed to create sustainable income-generating avenues by equipping rural entrepreneurs with the tools and training necessary to succeed. The initial phase will focus on finalizing DPRs and mobilizing resources for swift implementation.
The collaboration is expected to catalyze livelihood opportunities, especially in underserved areas, contributing to the broader mission of inclusive economic development in Tripura.
