‘SwatantryaVeer Savarkar’ makers rope in Ankita Lokhande, Amit Sial


The makers of ‘SwatantryaVeer Savarkar’, a biopic on freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Sarvarkar on Wednesday announced that actors Ankita Lokhande and Amit Sial will play key roles in the movie.

Producer Sandeep Singh said in a statement, “Ankita is a bundle of talent waiting to be tapped. It’s a high time she be given her due as an artiste. I hope my film adds to her repertoire, a feather proudly placed on her cap. I have known Ankita for years and have great regard for her as an actress and a friend.”

“As for Amit Sial, he is born for cinema. His knowledge and passion for the art is commendable. I am glad Amit is in my film playing an important supportive character,” Sandeep added.

Producer Anand Pandit said, “We are proud to have Ankita Lokhande and Amit Sial on board. Both have years of experience as actors which adds to our film’s intensity.”

Sharing the news on social media, Ankita wrote, “This news which I have been waiting to announce! My first film as a lead #Swatantryaveersavarkar & I cannot wait to start this beautiful journey! This wouldn’t have been possible without you @officialssandipsingh. You have been my biggest support and the best friend one could ever ask for. Your journey has been commendable Producer Saab. Thank you so much @anandpanditmotionpictures sir for this opportunity

And last but not the least @randeephooda, you’re the most talented actor and now our director Saab.”

Amit said, “Extremely honoured to live the legacy of our heroes and to be a part of such an incredible team of #SwatantryaVeerSavarkar The film is slated to release on 26th May, 2023 on the occasion of #VeerSavarkar’s 140th birth anniversary”.

‘SwatantryaVeer Savarkar’ marks the debut of Randeep Hooda as a director besides playing the titular role.

It is conceptualised by Sandeep, and written by Utkarsh Naithani and Randeep. The film is produced by Anand Pandit Motion Pictures and Legend Studios, Producers Anand Pandit, Sandeep Singh and Sam Khan.
