ZEE5 on Monday announced the premiere of Tamil action thriller ‘Kaari’, on December 23.
Produced by S Lakshman Kumar, ‘Kaari’ is written and director by Hemanth and revolves around the life of a horse jockey in Chennai and how fate brings him to a small village in Ramanad district, talks about the importance of animals and waste recycling.
It features M Sasikumar, Parvathy Arun and JD Chakravarthy Balaji Sakthivel, Aadukalam Naren, Ammu Abhirami, Redin Kingsley, Nagineedu, Ramkumar Ganesan, Samyuktha, Prem in prominent roles.
A champion race jockey, a multi-millionaire, and a simple village girl, these three characters and the rustic villagers of Kaariyoor are miles apart until one day their lives change and destiny brings them on a direct collision course with each other. Sethu essayed by Sasikumar, is a horse jockey and has his stable in Chennai. His life takes a turn when his father – Vellasaamy (Aadukalam Narein) dies, after which his pet horse is also killed.
The antagonists SKR (JD Chakravarthy), is into the meat business and the exploitation of animals. The rural action drama also discusses topics like pro-animal liberation, corporate greed, ethics of meat consumption, and other matters that have been seldom touched upon before.
