10-year-old injured in swing mishap during Eid celebrations

Agartala, 21st March 2026:   The Rabindra Shishu Kanan Park in the city was abuzz with joy as families gathered to celebrate Eid. From early morning, residents flocked to the park with relatives to enjoy the festive day. However, the cheerful atmosphere was suddenly overshadowed by an unfortunate accident.

According to reports, a 10-year-old boy from Nayapatan in the northern part of the city was playing on a swing when another child accidentally pushed from behind. Losing balance, the boy fell and sustained a severe injury to his hand. Doctors later confirmed that his arm was fractured.

Local residents present at the park acted swiftly, immediately alerting the fire service. A rescue team arrived within minutes and rushed the injured child to Unakoti District Hospital in their vehicle. Medical staff provided prompt treatment, and his condition was reported to be stable.

The incident has sparked concerns about safety measures at the park. Parents and guardians expressed frustration, questioning whether adequate supervision and crowd management were in place during the festival rush.
