16th National Voters’ Day celebrated at Dharmanagar

Agartala, 25th January 2026:   The 16th National Voters’ Day was observed in Dharmanagar this morning at the Ardhendu Bhattacharjee Memorial Hall, under the joint initiative of the North Tripura District Administration and Dharmanagar Sub-Division, following the directives of the Election Commission of India. The event aimed to raise awareness among citizens about the importance of voting rights in a democracy.

The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by North Tripura District Magistrate Chandni Chandran. Sub-Divisional Magistrate Debyani Choudhury, Superintendent of Police Avinash Rai, along with other officials and distinguished guests, were present on the occasion. Speakers highlighted the crucial role of informed voters in building a strong democracy and urged newly eligible citizens to register themselves in the electoral rolls.

To mark the day, a bicycle rally was also organized by the Election Commission. The rally was flagged off by the dignitaries and passed through key routes of the town, spreading the message of voter awareness among the public.
