Agartala, 30th September 2026 : A total of 17 skill development projects involving 13 Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs) have been sanctioned in Tripura under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) 2.0, with training scheduled to begin from October.
The development was announced during an MoU signing programme held at Pragya Bhavan, Agartala, on Wednesday. The programme was attended by TRLM CEO Tarit Kanti Chakma, IAS, along with the Additional CEO, COO (Skills), District Mission Coordinators and Block Programme Managers from across the state.
Representatives of all 13 implementing agencies also participated in the programme.
The sanctioned projects cover a wide range of employment-oriented trades, including Telehealth Services Coordinator, Cosmetologist, Warehouse Executive, Retail Sales Assistant, Assistant Electrician, Receptionist, Retail Sales Executive, Solar Lighting Assembler, Solar PV Module Manufacturing Technician, Field Technician–Computing and Peripherals and other roles in tourism, hospitality and home appliance services.
Training facilities will be available at multiple centres in Agartala, besides centres at Udaipur in Gomati district, Kolkata and Guwahati.
The initiative seeks to equip rural youth with industry-relevant skills and improve their access to sustainable employment opportunities. Through DDU-GKY 2.0, TRLM is focusing on linking skill training with emerging job opportunities and strengthening livelihood prospects for young people in rural areas.
