171st birth anniversary of Sri Sri Maa Sharada celebrated in state

Agartala, January 03:  The 171st birth anniversary of Sri Sri Maa Sharada, the consort of Sri Ramakrishna, was celebrated with great devotion and fervour in various parts of Tripura on Wednesday. Sri Sri Maa Sharada, also known as Sharadadevi, was born on 3 January 1853 in Jayarambati, a village in West Bengal. She is revered as the Holy Mother by crores of followers of the Ramakrishna-Vivekananda movement.

Several branches of the Ramakrishna Mission and Math in Tripura, such as Viveknagar Campus, Gangail Road, and Dhaleswar, organized special pujas and rituals to commemorate the occasion. The devotees participated in Mangalarti, Anudhya, Vedic chanting, Chandipath, Devotional songs, Bhograti and Pushpanjali, and received Prasad as blessings from the Holy Mother.

The Ramakrishna Mission and Mutt also conducted various social service activities, such as distributing clothes, blankets, and food to the poor and needy, as part of the celebration. The devotees expressed their gratitude and joy for the life and teachings of Sri Sri Maa Sharada, who epitomized the ideals of universal love, compassion, and service.
