Agartala Jan 04: With barely few days left for the state to go for polls, final electoral rolls for 2023 assembly polls in the state is scheduled to be published on Thursday next.
According to a press statement, the special summary revision of electoral rolls with respect to January 01, 2023 as the qualifying date has started on November 9, 2022 with draft publication.
After completion of the stipulated period for inclusion/ deletion/ correction of electoral rolls, the election commission of India has accorded approval for final publication of electoral rolls with respect to January 01, 2023 as the qualifying date on January 05, 2023.The claims & objections period commenced from November 09, 2022 and was fixed up to December 08, 2022.
Meanwhile, considering the enthusiasm among the common people in order to enroll their names, the period was extended for seven more days up to December 15, 2022 with prior approval of the Commission.At every stage, meeting of Political Parties was held and the list of Claims and Objections in Form-9, 10, 11, 11A, 11B were handed over to them on weekly basis as a part of transparency measures. Besides, copy of the same was also made available in the website of the CEO and DEOS.
All the applicants were given adequate opportunity to appear for the hearing. The EROS and AEROs have completed the disposal of all the claims and objections by December 26, 2022 and duly updated the Electoral Roll database through ERO Net.
After completion of updating work, electoral roll data along with analysis and outcome of Special Summary Revision exercise was submitted to Election Commission of India for consideration. Based on this, the Election Commission of India has accorded approval for final publication of Electoral Rolls on January 05, next.After publication, the applicants and all other stake holders will be able to see Final Rolls-2023 in all the Pulling Stations, Designated Locations, SDM Offices, DM Offices, Tehsil Offices etc.
The work of printing of EPIC is going on for the newly enrolled electors which will be handed over to in due course.
