21.1 Kg Ganja of Rs 4 lakh Recovered in Sonamura, Police Launch Probe

Agartala, 17th August 2026 :   Tripura Police recovered and seized a large quantity of ganja during a night-time mobile patrol in the NC Nagar area under Sonamura Police Station.

Police personnel on mobile duty reportedly noticed the suspected contraband abandoned at the spot. A total of 21.100 kg of ganja was recovered and subsequently taken into custody as unclaimed after following the required legal procedures.

The estimated market value of the seized contraband is around Rs 4.20 lakh police said.

Following the recovery, Sonamura Police Station has initiated an investigation to ascertain who was behind the abandoned consignment. Police are examining available leads and gathering information to identify the suspected owner or persons involved in transporting the contraband.Further investigation is underway.
