Agartala, 29th September 2023: As many as 21 laborers sustained severe injuries after a tractor turned turtle which was enroute to Khowai District from Agartala on Friday.
The accident took place in the Padmabil area in Khowai district. Sources said that upon receiving the distress call, local fire and emergency personnel swiftly rushed to the spot, orchestrating a successful rescue operation.
The injured individuals were promptly referred to Khowai Hospital for immediate medical attention.
Seven of the injured workers were later referred to GB Pant Hospital for specialized treatment, while the remaining 14 are currently receiving treatment at Khowai Hospital. Many among them have been discharged after receiving initial medical attention. Notably, the injured include minors aged between 16 and 17 years.
The names of those in critical condition referred to GB Pant Hospital are Rajesh Tripura, Eays Ali, Sanjay Chakma, Prakash Das, Animaal Ali, Rajesh Chakma, and Matishbur Ali.
The Khowai police station has taken cognizance of the incident and initiated a thorough investigation. They have also seized the vehicle involved in the accident.
