Agartala, 31st August 2026 : The 27th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Tapan Chakraborty was observed with solemnity at Dropgate on Monday under the initiative of the DYFI Dukli Divisional Committee.
DYFI State Secretary Nabarun Deb, State Secretariat members Gautam Ghosh and Shantanu Deb, former State President Pankaj Ghosh, former youth leaders Swapan Poddar and Ajay Dey, and SFI Dukli Divisional Committee Secretary Paritosh Debnath were among those present.
The programme began with leaders and activists paying floral tribute to the portrait of Tapan Chakraborty. A discussion meeting, chaired by Gautam Ghosh, followed the tribute ceremony.
Speakers, including Nabarun Deb, Pankaj Ghosh and Shubhankar Majumder, recalled Chakraborty’s life, struggles and ideals. They called upon the younger generation to uphold his values and participate actively in democratic and social movements.
The speakers said that true tribute to martyrs lies not merely in remembering their sacrifice but in carrying forward their ideals and standing united on issues concerning people’s rights and problems. A large number of DYFI activists and supporters attended the programme.
