446 new Covid cases in state, mask enforcement begins

Agartala: July 24. As the Covid cases in the state have started increasing, the civil administration has begun slapping fines to citizens for not wearing masks even after creating awareness.While speaking with reporters, DCM Debabrata Roy of Sadar Administration said that from today they have started slapping fines to people.

“From the Sadar administration we have started our activities on mask enforcement drive. According to the guideline everyone have to wear mask before leaving home as the Covid number is rising and we are also creating awareness. Today we have slapped fine to eight people for not wearing masks which will continue in coming days as well. We have seen that around 80 percent people are aware about the matter and wore masks”, he said.

Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, one more person died and 446 persons tested Covid positive.After testing the samples of 3,673 people, another 446 people have been positive with corona.The surprising thing this time is that now the cases in South district have started increasing than the West District. According to the health department bulletin, 110 people were infected in West District, 39 people were infected in Sepahijala District, 12 people were infected in Khowai District, 53 people were infected in Gomati District, 115 people were infected in South District, 35 people were infected in Dhalai District, 38 people were infected in Unakoti District, while 44 positive cases in North District. The positivity rate has now increased to 12.14 percent. 293 people have recovered. The recovery rate has dropped to 96.78 percent. Many patients are also under treatment in the hospital. The total number of active patients in home isolation and AGMC’s Covid Care Center is 2,380.
