Agartala: September 10. A 60-year-old woman committed suicide by drinking acid following a family dispute. The deceased was identified as Manjubala Debbarma. The incident occurred in Jamtila area under Khowai police station. On Friday morning, she tried to commit suicide by drinking acid. When her son came from MNREGA work found his mother lying on the side of the house.
She told her son that she had taken acid. Her son immediately informed the firemen who rushed her Khowai district hospital. But Manjubala Debbarma died at home on Friday night while undergoing treatment at the Hospital. After postmortem on Saturday, the body was handed over to the family members. The police have taken up a case of unnatural death and started investigating the incident.
