65-year old man’s dead body recovered at Kailashahar

Agartala: October 22, 2022: A dead body has been recovered from water floating under a culvert at ward number 2 of Ichabpur Gram Panchayat under Gournagar RD block in Kailashahar on Saturday morning.

It is reported that the deceased’s name is Kamal Singh, (65). Although the deceased’s permanent residence is in Kamranga Bari area of Kailashahar, the villagers said that he has been staying in the house of Rohit Sinha, a permanent resident of Ward No. 2 of Ichabpur Gram Panchayat for several years.

The locals said that the deceased Kamal Singh was a retired railway worker. His wife and son, daughter are known to be living in Panisagar area of North Tripura district. He left his wife and children for some unknown reason and has been living in different areas of Kailashahar subdivision. It is also learned that Kamal Singh was known in Ichabpur village as a very good person.

Allegedly, Kamal Singh did not visit Rohit Sinha’s house last night, and his shoes were found next to a culvert in the area on Saturday morning, along with Kamal Singh’s dead body floating in the water below the culvert. Local residents came and gathered at the scene. However, whether it was a natural death or a planned murder, the entire locality is in conflict.

On receiving the information, the police of Kailashahar police station rushed to the spot and started investigating the incident. Besides, the dead body was recovered and sent to Unakoti District Hospital for autopsy. But in this incident, there is intense tension in the entire Ichabpur village panchayat area. The villagers informed about the incident.
