Agartala, 25th October 2024 : The 9th Ayurveda Day will be celebrated on October 29, 2024, with the theme “Ayurveda Innovation for Global Health.” The Government of India has designated Dhanteras or Dhanvantari Jayanti as Ayurveda Day since 2016, emphasizing the importance of Ayurveda in improving global health.
The celebrations will involve three main activities: Jan Sandesh: Social media promotion, messages from cultural personalities, SMS campaigns, and promotional materials such as radio jingles and TV spots; Jan Bhagidari: Focus on Ayurveda and women’s health, promoting innovation and entrepreneurship, and introducing wellness programs at schools and workplaces; & Jan Andolan: Encouraging innovative initiatives, promoting Ayurveda food festivals, lifestyle counseling, and establishing selfie points.
Various programs are planned in Tripura, including awareness sessions on women’s health at the Tripura Government Women’s College, seminars, and discussions in schools, colleges, and Tripura University. The state’s main celebration will be held at Pragya Bhavan in Agartala, with Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha as the Chief Guest.
Tripura’s government has promoted Ayurveda in recent years, constructing a 50-bed Ayurvedic Hospital at Paradise Chowmuhani. The hospital offers various treatments, free Ayurvedic medicines, and diagnostic facilities. Integrated AYUSH Hospitals are operational in Kailashahar, Gomati District and soon in Sabroom. Health camps and the AYUSH Gram project also support rural communities.
