Agartala: March 01. Tripura Police on Wednesday seized four persons and seized cannabis worth Rs 3 crores from Ganganagar under Gandacherra in Dhalai district of the state.
Speaking with reporters police personnel said that based on secret information Tripura Police and jawans of Tripura State Rifles detained one small car and another container truck who were enroute to Assam with huge cache of cannabis.
“These two vehicles were carrying illegal contraband items that too the quantity was huge. So when we received the information we have set up naka point and started checking vehicles. Soon the vehicle arrived we have detained both the vehicle and found huge cache of cannabis”, the police official said.
He further informed that from the Hyundai car the police seized 76 packets of cannabis weighing 105 kg and from the truck 1097 kgs dry cannabis were seized.
“The market value of the seized cannabis worth Rs 3.5 crores and we have also detained 4 persons and started investigating the matter”, the official added.
