Agartala, 26th August 2025:   The recent assault on school teacher Rajesh Sur Chowdhury at Bishalgarh has sparked outrage among educators and the common people. In response to the incident, members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) submitted a memorandum to the Superintendent of Police in Sepahijala district today demanding immediate action against the perpetrators.

ABVP leaders condemned the attack as “deplorable and unacceptable,” raising serious concerns about the safety of educators in the region. They urged authorities to swiftly identify and punish those responsible, and called for robust measures to prevent such incidents in the future.

During the deputation, ABVP representatives emphasized the critical role teachers play in shaping society’s future. “When a teacher is attacked, the entire education system suffers,” the delegation stated. The memorandum warned that failure to arrest the accused promptly would compel the organization to launch a larger protest movement.

Police have confirmed the arrest of one youth in connection with the incident and investigations are ongoing.
