ADC Polls: PCC promises jobs, rights, transparency

Date:

Agartala, 3rd April 2026:  The Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) on Friday unveiled its manifesto for the upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections, highlighting eight key commitments centered on transparency, tribal welfare, and development. The manifesto was released by Saptagiri Ulaka, the party’s Tripura in-charge, alongside TPCC president Asish Kumar Saha and other senior leaders in Agartala.

The party promised transparent and accountable governance in the district council, protection of tribal land and forest rights, and a strong push for education and skill development. Other priorities include infrastructure development, improving quality of life, generating employment, boosting economic growth, and preserving tribal culture and identity.

The Congress emphasized strengthening the ADC and ensuring inclusive development for indigenous communities. Speaking to reporters, Ulaka said he is in the state to participate in a bike rally in Dharmanagar ahead of the by-election. He expressed confidence in the party’s candidate, Chayan Bhattacharya, stating that Congress is working actively to secure a decisive victory. Ulaka also announced that the party will contest the TTAADC polls in alliance with its partners. Criticizing the BJP government, he alleged misuse of public funds and failure to address tribal welfare demands, asserting that Congress remains the strongest challenger in the state.
