Agartala city prepares for 10th International Day of Yoga with vibrant rally

Agartala, 20th June 2024:  The 10th International Day of Yoga will be observed on June 21 and the city is set to celebrate with a vibrant rally organized by the West District Yoga Association in collaboration with the Pradesh AYUSH Mission.

The rally began on Thursday from Agiye Chala Sangha in Agartala city and marched through various roads of the city. Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy, Tripura Sports Council Secretary Sukanta Ghosh, Mission Director Rajib Datta and Joint Director Binay Bhushan Das were present to inaugurate the event.

Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy emphasized the significance of yoga in the realm of sports, stating, “Yoga is a big part of sports. It is an ancient tradition that promotes physical and mental well-being. It’s heartening to see 177 countries celebrating World Yoga Day following the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”

Minister Roy also highlighted the enduring benefits of yoga, urging its daily practice. “Yoga is very important to keep the mind and body healthy. While observing Yoga Day on June 21 each year is significant, integrating yoga into daily life is essential,” he remarked.

The rally is a prelude to the global celebrations, reinforcing the city’s commitment to promoting the holistic practice of yoga.
