Agartala, October 01, 2022: The secretary of the Urban Development department received the certificate for Agartala city with the “Indian Swachhata League” from the ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs on Saturday. As part of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, this campaign was launched from September 17 last to October 02 next aiming to transform the capital of Tripura as a waste-free city.
The Urban Development department is going to highlight their potential issues while organizing their various programs in the Urban Local Bodies in this campaign. Agartala Municipal Corporation participated in this rally organized on September 17 last as ‘Agartala Royals’. The rally was attended by AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder, TSPCB chairman Prof BK Agarwala, Urban Development department’s Additional Secretary, officers and elected representatives of various wards and dignitaries, various social organizations, NCC, self-help groups, students, sanitation workers also joined the rally.
The rally starts from Umakanta Academy and ends at Ujjayanta Palace, taking various routes. The rally held in the city of Agartala demonstrated the commitment to ‘Public Participation’ and ‘Swachh Nirmal Tripura’ with massive participation of the youth community.
