Agartala, 16th January 2026:   Agartala Government Dental College and IGM Hospital continues to provide comprehensive dental care for patients of all ages, including children, adults, and the elderly. Among its key departments, the Department of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry plays a vital role in promoting oral health among children and adolescents.

This department specializes in treating a wide range of dental and oral conditions in young patients, many of whom now suffer from both dental and oral cavity-related diseases. Leveraging modern technology and advanced equipment, the department offers state-of-the-art treatment, including successful reimplantation of teeth lost due to trauma.

One of the department’s most remarkable achievements involved a nine-year-old child with borderline autism who had lost a front tooth. The child’s guardians promptly brought the dislodged tooth wrapped in paper to the hospital. Thanks to timely intervention and expert care, the department’s specialists successfully reimplanted the tooth into its original socket.

In another case, a ten-year-old child lost a tooth while playing. The child was immediately brought to the hospital, where the dental team followed proper procedures to reinsert the tooth successfully.

A third incident involved another ten-year-old who had also lost a front tooth. Once again, the department’s specialists managed to reimplant the tooth with precision and care.

According to the department’s experts, if a dislodged tooth is brought in within 30 minutes of the incident, successful reimplantation is highly likely. Until the patient reaches a pedodontist, the tooth should ideally be preserved in saline, milk, or the patient’s own saliva to maintain viability.

All patients treated in these cases have recovered well in the months following their procedures. The families of the children have expressed heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and healthcare staff at Agartala Government Dental College and IGM Hospital for their dedication and expertise in restoring their children’s smiles.
