Agartala, 11th September 2025 : With the Durga Puja festival just around the corner, preparations for the post-festival idol immersion have already begun in the city. Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Mayor Dipak Majumdar visited the Dashamighat area today to oversee arrangements for the upcoming idol removal.
Speaking after the visit, Mayor Majumdar noted that Dashamighat witnesses the largest crowd during Durga Puja due to the high number of idol immersions. “All necessary measures will be taken to ensure smooth idol removal this year as well,” he said.
The Mayor emphasized that the AMC will play an active role in managing all aspects of the process, including lighting, security, cleanliness, and traffic control. Coordination with other administrative departments will also be carried out to ensure minimal inconvenience to city residents.Highlighting the Corporation’s commitment, Mayor Majumdar assured that every effort will be made to ensure the idol immersion process is conducted peacefully and efficiently, maintaining the tradition of safe and organized celebrations in Agartala.
