Agartala, 12th September 2025 :   Tensions flared in the state’s transport sector after Raju Majumdar, reportedly the secretary of the Udaipur-based transport company, was accused of physically assaulting a bus driver and a contractor in Nagerjala. The incident has triggered widespread outrage among local transport workers.

According to sources, Majumdar allegedly intercepted multiple buses en route to Udaipur, forcibly offloaded passengers at various locations, and detained the vehicles. The buses were later redirected back to Agartala without completing their scheduled journey.

In response, aggrieved bus drivers halted all Agartala-Udaipur services indefinitely. At a press conference, representatives of the transport workers demanded immediate action from the state government and local administration. They warned that failure to address the issue could lead to escalated protests and more severe measures in the coming days.

The situation remains tense, with commuters facing disruptions and stakeholders calling for swift intervention to restore normalcy.
