Agriculture Minister flags off organic products to Gulf countries says Organic exports will help increase farmers’ income

Agartala, 10th July 2026:   Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath today flagged off organic products for export to Gulf countries through Lulu Retail in Dubai.

The Minister said that Lulu Retail is the largest full-fledged retail marketing organisation in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). It has extensive operations in six GCC countries and procures high-quality agricultural and food products from more than 85 countries across the world.

It is a matter of pride for the state to include Tripura’s organic produce in the marketing system of such an internationally renowned organisation.

“Today, we are exporting 1,300 organic scented lemons, 182 kg of organic Kalikhasa aromatic rice, and 350 Queen pineapples to Dubai. Today, 1,300 organic fragrant lemons were exported to Dubai from Baramura Farmer Producer Company (Baramura FPC) in Teliamura, Khowai district. A total of 182 kg of organic Kalikhasa fragrant rice was procured from Trishna Farmer Producer Company (Trishna FPC) in Rajnagar, South Tripura district, and 350 Queen pineapples were supplied by Khabaksa Farmer Producer Company (Khabaksa FPC) in Killa, Gomati district. This success is a shining example of the dedication, hard work, and high-quality organic production of our farmers and farmer producer companies,” he said.

He said that recently, 10,000 kg of organic dried bird’s eye chilli was successfully exported from Tripura to Germany. Today’s export is another important milestone in the growing acceptance and potential of Tripura’s organic agricultural products in the international market.

“The Tripura government is working tirelessly to promote organic farming, strengthen value addition, certification, branding, and market linkages so that our farmers get fair prices for their organic produce and increase their income,” said the Minister.

He said that this is a testament to the growing acceptance of Tripura’s organic produce in the international market.

“Recently, 10,000 kg of organic dried bird’s eye chilli from Tripura was successfully exported to Germany. Today, with the export of organic fragrant lemon, black fragrant rice, and Queen pineapple to Dubai, Tripura’s organic produce has reached another important milestone in the international market. This success is a reflection of the hard work, dedication of our farmers, and the growing global recognition of Tripura’s organic farming. On this auspicious occasion, I am very happy to announce the successful launch of this export consignment of organic fragrant lemon, organic black fragrant rice, and organic Queen pineapple to Dubai,” he said.

The Minister informed that during the Tripura Destination Business Conclave, TSECL signed MoUs worth Rs 23,539 crore, while TREDA signed MoUs worth Rs 13,080 crore. In the Agriculture and Horticulture sectors, MoUs signed worth Rs 1,698.4 crore, with more such agreements expected in the future.
