Aguli Lantern Festival concluded with huge gathering in city

Agartala, 5th November 2023:: A night of enchantment and unity graced Krishna Nagar as the Aguli Lantern Festival made its grand return , inaugurated at 3 PM in the gracious presence of Chairman Abhijit Deb, Tripura MARFED and many other officials. The picturesque Pragati Maidan hosted this magical experience, unlike any other. 

The Aguli Lantern Festival, a first of its kind in Tripura and the entire North East India, aimed to unite people through the mesmerizing beauty of lantern lighting. The evening’s festivities included a spectacular lantern lighting ceremony, where attendees collectively lit lanterns, symbolizing the power of unity. Alongside this luminous display, the event featured a diverse array of musical and traditional performances, celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the region. The second edition of the Aguli Lantern Festival exceeded expectations with over 3500 attendees who gathered to witness this magical event.

“We extend our gratitude to everyone who was a part of this unique initiative, helping to create unforgettable memories and strengthen the bonds of the community” said by Chirantanu Debnath, Convener, Aguli Lantern Festival.  The event was organized by Vivah Stories and Agartala Buzz, a venture of TOTELL, the startup community of Tripura. Pragati Maidan in Krishna Nagar witnessed the spectacle that started at 3:30 PM today, with the people of Agartala coming together to illuminate the night with the spirit of unity and togetherness. Prior to the event, more than 1000+ online registrations were received for free lanterns, and an impressive 3500+ spectators witnessed the event, making it a remarkable success. The event also witnessed the mesmerizing traditional and most popular tribal dance form Hozagiri and folk dances of various tribes along with music band  performances of Agragami, Bhairavi, Prachi Debnath and Arpan Jamatia. Alongside the traditional food stalls served exquisite tribal cuisines of Tripura. The day after each and every organizers were observed to clean the entire Maidan to support Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
