Agartala, 1st September 2026 : Preparations are underway in Dhalai district for the upcoming Village Committee elections, scheduled for September 28. As part of the arrangements, an all-party meeting was held at the Ambassa RD Block, with representatives of various political parties discussing the election process and ensuring peaceful polling.
Barnita Biswas, BDO and Returning Officer of Ambassa RD Block, said the official election notification has been issued and nomination filing has commenced. The last date for submitting nominations is September 8.
She said Ambassa Block has 15 Village Committees, 41 polling stations, 66 constituencies and 123 seats. A total of 23,297 voters are registered, including 11,607 men and 11,690 women.
The administration urged all political parties and citizens to cooperate in ensuring free, fair and peaceful elections.
