Agartala, 7th July 2026: A family in the Ujan Abhoynagar area of the capital has alleged that attempts are being made to forcibly occupy their property with the help of a tantrik (occult practitioner). The complaint was filed by house owner Parbati Pal, who accused her neighbours Partha Pal and Anjuzu Bala Pal of harassment and attempts to grab her late husband’s land.
According to Parbati Pal, Anjuzu Bala Pal is her sister-in-law (ja), and she, along with her son, has been allegedly trying for a long time to take control of her husband’s property. The ongoing dispute has reportedly caused severe mental distress and harassment for the family.Parbati Pal said that after facing continuous problems, she approached the Agartala Municipal Corporation office to inform officials about the matter. However, she alleged that soon after this, the accused persons brought a tantrik to the house and intensified the harassment.
On Tuesday morning, the accused allegedly came to Parbati Pal’s residence, assaulted her, and threatened her with dire consequences. She further alleged that they threatened to kill her and destroy evidence to avoid punishment.Speaking to the media, Parbati Pal appealed to the government and administration for intervention and demanded a fair investigation and justice.
Parbati’s daughter also alleged that after her father’s death, her aunt and cousin have been continuously attempting to forcibly occupy their land. She claimed that stones are thrown at their house at night and that her mother has been physically assaulted several times. The family stated that despite approaching the authorities for help, no effective action has been taken so far. They have now turned to the media, seeking government intervention and protection.
